Who We Are
Bridge to Baladi is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering emergency relief to civilians in Gaza while protecting dignity through choice, care, and community-led support. Baladi means “my country” in Arabic.
Bridge to Baladi connects local communities with our homeland through consistent, accountable support delivered when it matters most.
Founded by Mai Abushaaban, the organization grew from grassroots efforts into a registered nonprofit to ensure aid reaches families through trusted and transparent channels. Our work has supported families through food assistance, healthcare support, and direct relief, always centering the people we serve.
What We Do
Bridge to Baladi provides direct support to civilians in Gaza impacted by war, focusing on needs that are often overlooked by larger organizations. Through close community ties and trusted partners on the ground, we are able to respond quickly to urgent and localized needs.
Our work has included funding medical equipment, supporting healthcare workers, assisting small business owners with reconstruction, and providing families with essential resources. These direct connections allow us to identify gaps in aid and serve smaller communities that may otherwise go unreached.
Bridge to Baladi operates with extremely low overhead, with the majority of funds raised directed toward relief efforts and only minimal administrative costs required to sustain operations. We remain committed to financial responsibility, transparency, and ensuring donations are used as effectively as possible. While circumstances may evolve, our commitment remains the same—every contribution is handled with care and directed toward meaningful, on-the-ground support for families in Gaza.
